Current and Ongoing

Once upon a New Year's Eve, himself had SHAFTA up his sleeve
Twisted bushes enjoyed whitewashing reality and lore
Base estaters nodding, undecideds napping, most medicinally tap tapping
Then they started rapping, rapping for the Florida spoor
And fake lawmakers muttered nonsense behind a reason-proof door
Daylight revealed smoke & mirrors, much was less & nothing was more.
*
John Boehner is rusting from the inside out
Mitch McConnell's bribers are what he's all about
Paul Ryan spreads his selfishness with a smiley pout
And make a note: Dick-in-the-Face needs more organ grout.
They call it doing "business."
*
Georgie Goy Sr. was not the first killer in his clan nor the last
He wanted to know who cared, due to his words & actions & past
A hospital room for receiving
Worshippers and their believing
Was the perfect stage for the entire crew & most of the prepaid cast.
*
So a kheda was built. The rest is current and ongoing.

"Behind an Amp"

Have you heard that the ceo's and boards of corporate farms, the energy and war corporations, and the drug pusher corporations will be required to be tested for drugs? It's probably because they are on welfare and a drain on society.

From "Running With Scissors A Memoir" by Augusten Burroughs, Picador, 2002, page 109 in the paperback:
"Because he moved out of our home in Leverett when he was sixteen [author was 7 years younger], my brother was never involved with any of the Finches. He had met them and considered them 'freaks.' He also considered our parents 'freaks' and remained as far away from them as possible. He was designing electric guitars for the rock band KISS at the time, so I viewed him with a remote sense of awe.
Once, he even let me hang out with him and the band like a groupie. They were playing the Nassau Coliseum in New York and my brother not only paid for me to fly all the way out there, but he met me at the airport in a white stretch limo.
I got to sit next to the stage and watch the band rehearse. I got to see them without makeup. I even got to watch Paul Stanley talk on a portable phone that was the size of an assault rifle.
At one point, Gene Simmons came over to me and joked, 'Hey, little boy. Wanna see me without my clothes?'
I wanted to tell him 'Yes.'
He laughed and stripped off his jeans so he could put on his stage clothes.
I kept watching until he gave me a funny look and stepped behind an amp."

Don't apologize
Keep squeezing through the cries
Who cares if someone dies
Don't apologize
My, how time flies
Finally one of the guys
Don't apologize
Feelin' those power highs
After all, everybody lies
Don't apologize
Whose turn to go for coffees and pies?
Won't listen to people's sighs
Don't apologize
The bind that hurts and ties
Are only the wise asking the whys?
Don't apologize.

Tender Feelings Again

My heart aches for Louis Zamperini. He experienced "far too many scenes of sadistic brutality" in his young life. He was "one man enduring beating after beating after beating." Please don't make people have to think about the reality of  being Louis Zamperini. That hurts their tender feelings again.

Never Able to Leave the Island

There were basically 2 classes in Cuba - the very wealthy (who became middle class in the U.S.) and the very poor. The wealthy always smell threats to their cash and gold and act quickly, while the poor are still trying to survive the day. In the 1950's, the Cuban wealthy smelled that smell and scattered everywhere. In the 1980's, the poor and those labeled as criminals left Cuba. The adolescents and teenagers who fled in the 50's - the baby boomers - have no affection for the people who were never able to leave the island.

Using a false front of the crucifiction cult and a back room practice of secrets and hot air, the U.S. government operates on the fumes of its imaginary past glory. As the vassal state of the Sauds and the self-appointed murderer of the globe, it has always had and continues to have an anti people goal. The U.S. government has neither the intelligence nor the will to adapt to a changing world. Or maybe, just maybe it does.

Pay For Dinners

We all know republican politicians are independent thinkers and doers. They walk the walk of discussion and compromise. They never criticize or ostracize their fellow republicans for common sense remarks, or empathy while kicking over the ladder, or working for the future well-being of the entire community. They never cheat, they especially never use voter suppression to cheat. So it is no surprise that Jim Parrilli - republican loner and maverick about town in a one man show - acts alone or maybe not.

"So, to summarize, a politician in line with the majority of Americans wants to keep Obamacare and find ways to make it work better, let gay and lesbian couples marry, raise the minimum wage, reform our immigration system to give undocumented immigrants a path to citizenship, institute criminal background checks on gun purchases, ban assault rifles and make it legal to smoke a joint."

It's Starting to Stink

President Obama is learning the hard way, which is the only way we humans learn the very important lessons. The bush/cheney illegal invasion and policy of devastation in Iraq was never officially discussed or legally dealt with. We were told not to look back. Criminals began to paint and harvest body parts and do things we would rather not know, everything but pay for their crimes. Mr. President, you can sweep things under the rug, but guess what,
it isn't pretty under there and it's starting to stink.

"A Genuinely Significant Difference"

Two paragraphs, out of order, from "How Sarah Palin could change the media, and why she won't" by Alyssa Rosenberg, Washington Post: http://www.washingtonpost.com/news/act-four/wp/2014/07/29/how-sarah-palin-could-change-the-media-and-why-she-wont/

"This has always been the great contradiction of Palin's career. When she arrived on the national stage, Palin's family members and her fluidity in talking about them were a significant part of her appeal. But Palin also got plenty of clear signals that there were rewards to be had in playing to ugly, inflammatory political narratives, and she did not stint in pursuing them."

"Watching Palin read to and play with Trig is a genuinely affecting display of emotion and patience. And when Palin discusses the teachers and therapists who work with children like Trig, helping him learn to speak and eat solid food, her concern and hopes for him are both modest and clear. If Palin were going to embark on a focused media career, this is a place where she could tell stories that are often excluded from mass culture and where she could make a genuinely significant difference."

The Existing Constitution

From "Areopagiticus" by Isocrates (436 - 338 bc)

(18) "And yet how can we praise or tolerate a government which has in the past been the cause of so many evils and which is now year by year ever drifting on from bad to worse? And how can we escape the fear that if we continue to progress after this fashion we may finally run aground on rocks more perilous than those which at that time loomed before us?"

(23) "Furthermore they considered that this way of appointing magistrates was also more democratic than the casting of lots, since under the plan of election by lot chance would decide the issue and the partizans of oligarchy would often get the offices; whereas under the plan of selecting the worthiest men, the people would have in their hands the power to choose those who were most attached to the existing constitution."

Is This a Problem?

Let's say there are 3 branches of government in the U.S. And let's say 2 of the branches have members who are actively working against the 3rd branch. The President himself is 1 of the branches, the Executive branch. The 2nd is the Legislative branch, that would be the Senate and the House of Representatives. The 3rd is the Judicial branch, which has no right to be the executive nor legislate law. Again, let's say far right wing members in the Senate, House, and supreme Court are actively working against the President and they are also actively working against all of us who are not the very wealthiest. Is this a problem?

Free!

Here in the Chicago area, we like to call private-for-profit schools "charter" schools because they are newly created corporations with special privileges. One of the special privileges is taking money from those who still pay their taxes. And the powers that be see the future with the rest of the public school students on isolated home computers - the oh so private public school system of the future. Most students will not do well but they will never have to leave the house. Organized sports and worshipping the permitted God(s) can all be done by avatar. Again, most will not do well, but it is free.

*
George Washington wrote a letter in 1788 to his friend, the Marquis de Lafayette. He wrote of the merits of the proposed U.S.Constitution and said there were some real defects, but they were not radical and he would not touch upon them at that time. Here is a part of it.

. . . With regard to the two great points (the pivots on which the whole machine must move) my Creed is simple:
1st -- That the general Government is not invested with more Powers than are indispensably necessary to perform the functions of a good Government; and, consequently, that no objection ought to be made against the quantity of Power delegated to it:
2ly -- That these Powers (as the appointment of all Rulers will forever arise from, and, at short stated intervals, recur to the free suffrage of the People) are so distributed among the legislative, Executive, and Judicial Branches, into which the general Government is arranged, that it can never be in danger of degenerating into a monarchy, an Oligarchy, an Aristocracy, or any other despotic or oppressive form; so long as there shall remain any virtue in the body of the People.
I would not be understood my dear marquis to speak of consequences which may be produced, in the revolution of ages, by corruptions of morals, profligacy of manners, and listlessness for the preservation of the natural and unalienable rights of mankind; nor of the successful usurpations that may be established at such an unpropitious juncture, upon the ruins of liberty, however, providently guarded and secured, as these are contingencies against which no human prudence can effectually provide. It will at least be a recommendation to the proposed Constitution that it is provided with more checks and barriers against the introduction of tyranny, and those of a nature less liable to be surmounted, than any government hitherto instituted among mortals, hath possessed. . .

Harmful to Society

*
The following words are from The Declaration of Independence of
July 4, 1776. The words refer to King George III, the German king of England. The funny part is that the words also apply to the party of John Boehner, Lindsey Graham, Jeff Sessions, Mitch McConnell and whoever is currently running the state of Michigan.
Substitute  "They have" for "He has":

He has refused his Assent to Laws,
He has forbidden his Governors to pass Laws of immediate and pressing Importance, unless suspended in their Operation till his Assent should be obtained;
He has dissolved Representative Houses
He has refused for a long Time, after such Dissolutions, to cause others to be elected;
He has endeavoured to prevent the Population of these States; for that Purpose obstructing the Laws for Naturalization of Foreigners; refusing to pass others to encourage their Migrations hither,
He has made Judges dependent on his Will alone,
He has erected a Multitude of new Offices, and sent hither Swarms of Officers to harass our People,
He has affected to render the Military independent of and superior to the Civil Power.
He has combined with others to subject us to a jurisdiction foreign to our Constitution, and unacknowledged by our Laws; giving his Assent to their Acts of pretended legislation:
For taking away our Charters, abolishing our most valuable Laws, and altering fundamentally the Forms of our Governments:
For suspending our own Legislatures, and declaring themselves invested with Power to legislate for us in all Cases whatsoever.
He has excited domestic Insurrections amongst us,

Lawns are worthless in todays weather changing world. Okay, lawns are useless and worthless. And what about the polluting mowers?

The Greatest

I have a 2 part question -
But first, the American global corporations and the United States government have supported repressive regimes in countries such as Honduras and Guatemala for many many decades and they continue to do so. They continue to support the corrupt military and police in those countries. They continue to support human rights abuses. They support the destruction of the economies. They continue to support genocide and plain ordinary murders. They continue to support the protection of drug traffickers.
Here is the question - Why does the U.S. Federal Dept of HoSe (DHS) pretend it does not know why so many Honduran and Guatemalan children are fleeing, and why did a representative of the DeHoSe dare to threaten the children's parents?
So, great country or the greatest?

If any place had foot-thick walls and faces asking for some pain, he was there. Sometimes he thinks he still is.

What About Them?

Dear Senator Mark Kirk,
Please listen and listen some more to Vets who have been and continue to be taken care of at Hines Hospital.
Illinois is not Arizona or Texas. And you are not the Senator who already knew about the problems, or are you?

Big boy "business" is conducted in a deceitful and shameful way and yet for some reason it leaves the perps feeling unfulfilled and yearning to mess up public schools and public governments in the same manner. Where did we go wrong?

Five questions:
